A polymer created in 2461 on Earth that is lighter than aluminum, and yet stronger than steel. A further discovery in 2497 allowed plasteel to be made transparent, and that's where it got its name in the history books, as a perfect material for cockpit windows and windshields for spacecraft. It is still used to this day in that function.
