M*U*S*H is a social MUSH that describes itself as "an eclectic community of artists, experimenters, learners, and teachers."

M*U*S*H was created on August 29th, 1996. In February of 1998, Javelin began to advertise the game on Usenet. Since Javelin was the lead developer of the PennMUSH MUSH Server, he began to beta test new versions of PennMUSH exclusively on M*U*S*H. Since 1998, M*U*S*H has held MUDToberfest, an "annual Fall festival of MUSHing", in October. MUDToberfest is widely attended by various members of the MUSH Community. M*U*S*H is known to play a yearly April Fools Day prank on April 1st, similar to the April Fools Day pranks TinyTIM used to hold.
