How can we forget?
Earth was more than a world, more than land, more than sea, more than man, more than bird, or animal, or fish.
Earth was home. Home is a strange word, it can mean house, it can mean where you were born. It can also mean where you belong. It was, the centre for us.
Our centre, my centre is gone, people might forget, but our order has stood since the time of the Emperor Constantine in the ancient Roman Empire. And we saw great empire's fall, we saw others rise and still we stood. We survived wars, invasions, through nearly three thousand years of human history our Order saw it all. It was the centre of us. And then came the Kretonians, and Sanctuary fled, and Earth fell. And we for the first time were knocked from our lofty perch. Yet we endured in hiding, teaching the word, spreading the news, in a strange way that was our time because it is in the darkest hour that Man looks for the light.
And then with the Kretonians gone, another invasion survived, we rebuilt and we restored our holy order to it's rightful historic place. And it is that place we mourn. Is that the hour God abandoned his flock? Or is this another trial to test the faithful? Are we who remain his Chosen? For now there are few of us, even those who were spread amongst the others lost their faith and fell when they heard that Earth, Italy, Rome, the Vatican were all gone.
This has been my darkest hour, but the lord promised that the next time the world was destroyed it would be destroyed in fire. He had foreseen that hour and even perhaps had tried to warn us of our folly. Remember God is not to blame it is we who failed him and not he who failed us.
And here on this place, the faithful shall rebuild, you have appointed me as your spiritual chieftain. And I will not fail you. Let us join in prayer.
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever.
